Ballinamallard Utd 1-2 Glentoran

Glentoran, who took just a solitary point from their 4 meetings with Ballinamallard United last season, deservedly left Ferney Park this afternoon with all 3.

Manager, Gary Haveron was without close season signing Dan Kelly with Kelly serving a one game suspension, carried over from last season. Calum Birney and James Ferrin lined up in the centre of the defence with skipper, Marcus Kane, moving into central midfield.

With the new season now started the Club Secretary, Ricky Rea, has asked for all Supporters Club Chairs or Secretaries to please update him with their Officer and contact details. This will then ensure all clubs are correctly included in all communication from the parent club. The details will then be updated on Glentoran.com. This will in turn help with the communication of club details, travel arrangements, etc and with recruitment of new members.

Tomorrow sees the beginning of our Danske Bank Premiership season.

Tomorrow we travel to Ballinamallard.

Tomorrow we travel to support OUR team.

Tomorrow sees a new group of players join our existing players to begin a new journey in the life of being a Glentoran player. There will be ups, there will be downs, but as a Glentoran player you should be proud to put on  the famous red, green and black every single game and give it your all.

Ballinamallard United v Glentoran

Saturday 12th August, 3pm.

For our season opener we make the journey to Ferney Park on Saturday to face Ballinamallard United (KO 3pm) in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Despite finishing a place ahead of the Mallards last season, our record against them was abysmal with only one point secured from a possible 12.

Away kit 2017-18

Yesterday at the Glentoran FC Family Day the 2017-18 away kit went on view for the first time. Having used George Best's House in the home kit launch we used another famous East Belfast landmark for the away kit - C.S. Lewis Square.

Family Day Prize Winners.

We are delighted to announce the following winners of the prize draws at the 2017 Glentoran Family Day and to congratulate the winners.

A travel voucher for £200, donated by Belfast City Airport for £200 was won by Simon Luke. Simon was called today by Glentoran Manager, Gary Haveron to be informed of his win.

A pre release copy of the 2017-18 Glentoran Away shirt was won by Shaw Coard.

The special Glentoran cake was won by John Wilkins from Bangor.
