Friday 29th March
Kick Off 7.45pm
A big one tomorrow night as we face our old rivals Linfield at the Bet McLean Oval in the semi-final of this year’s Clearer Water Irish Cup.
Linfield’s route to the Semi Final stage saw them having to fight back from 2-0 down at home to Premier Intermediate League side Warrenpoint Town to eventually win 4-2 in the 5th Round before a more routine 2-0 victory over Ballymena United at The National Stadium took them through to face Championship promotion contenders Institute at the Brandywell in the Quarter Finals: goals from Ethan Magee, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Kirk Millar contributing to a comfortable 3-1 win.
The Blues have won their last five games in all competitions since their shock 3-0 loss at Coleraine in mid-February, scoring 17 goals in the process.
Defender Euan East and forward Chris McKee missed last weekend’s 6-0 thrashing of Newry City but former Glens attacking midfielder Jordan Stewart did make a long-awaited return from injury as a substitute. Wingers Joel Cooper and Darragh McBrien will both be hoping for recalls from the bench to the starting 11, as will defender Mike Newberry.
The Glentoran end and main stand are SOLD OUT.
A reminder that the IFA has called a pitch inspection for 2pm tomorrow. Watch Glentoran media channels for the outcome.
