Match Preview - Ards

Ards v Glentoran

Saturday 7th April, 3.00pm.

This Saturday we play our first match in 15 days and belatedly start our post-split fixtures with our second visit of the season to Bangor to play Ards.

Ards are currently one place and nine points behind us, having played a game more. However we have lost our last two matches against them, both at the Oval, 0-2 in November and 1-2 in February. These were without question two of the very worst performances in this disappointing season. Our last visit to the Bangor Fuels Arena saw us record a 1-0 win through an early goal from Curtis Allen.

As a result of Tuesday evening’s postponement the one match suspensions of Willie Garrett, Stevie Gordon and John McGuigan all carry through to this game although Peter McMahon is available for this one and James Knowles is a possibility as he has returned to full training following his knee injury.

Ronnie McFall: “We were disappointed Tuesday’s match with Dungannon was postponed because the players know they need to get playing to show they’ve bounced back from the Ballymena letdown and that they’re in the right frame of mind to quickly qualify for the European play-off. Ards are coming off the back of a decent win over Warrenpoint on Tuesday night but I expect our players to start the way we need to continue with a strong. Committed and winning performance.”
