Glentoran could add Premiership success to Wednesday’s JBE League Cup triumph as they encounter Carrick Rangers for the second time this week.

To Carrick's expense on Wednesday night, a Steven Gordon double and a Curtis Allen strike booked the East Belfast sides place into tomorrow evenings JBE League Cup quarter-final draw with a 3-1 win.

Substitute Brian McCaul scored the visitors’ only goal, while Elliot Morris saved a Conor McCloskey penalty.

After Wednesday’s win, momentum will be in Glentoran’s favour as they host Carrick once more in a Danske Bank Premiership affair.  In their second meeting in four days, the Glens will be hoping to condemn the newly promoted side to successive defeats.

Gary Haveron’s men travel to the Oval tomorrow having only won one in their last thirteen games in all competitions. Last week, the Gers slumped to a 2-1 defeat as Coleraine left Taylor’s Avenue with all three points.

Last Saturday, Curtis Allen’s acrobatic effort deep into injury time to helped the Glens salvage a dramatic draw to deny Linfield success in the ‘Big Two’ derby.

In their previous Premiership clash back in August, Marcus Kane scored a sensational 30-yard volley to help the Glens earn a draw at Taylor’s Avenue.  Since then, the goal has racked up nearly 50,000 views on GlensTv Youtube channel alone.

Marcus is available again having missed Wednesday’s game through suspension.

Stadium Access

We would once again remind all Glentoran and Carrick Rangers supporters attending the match that, due to road works, access to Mersey Street from Dee Street will be unavailable. All access for vehicles will need to be via Severn Street (second left from Dee Street if exiting Sydenham By-Pass) then left along Yukon Street.  Pedestrian access will still be available as usual through both ends of Mersey Street.
