Hvala i sretno Hrvoje

With his contract at Glentoran expiring after four seasons at the club, Hrvoje Plum has decided to return to his native Croatia to further his career.

Hrvoje was one of the first signings for the club following Ali Pour’s takeover in July 2019 when he signed from Osijek. He was an instant fan favourite, scoring 13 goals from midfield in 28 games before sustaining a serious injury at Inver Park in January 2020 that kept him out of the rest of the season, including the Irish Cup Final win over Ballymena United. Many people feel Hrvoje’s absence and the loss of his goals had a detrimental impact on the rest of our league campaign that season.

Overall Hrvoje played 124 times for Glentoran, scoring 18 goals. He leaves us with very many happy memories including his virtuoso performance in 2019’s Boxing Day Big Two clash, and last season scoring the goal that have us our first win in a decade at Seaview.

Rodney McAree said of Hrvoje: “Hrvoje has been a ray of sunshine for us, both on and off the pitch. We wish him all the best on his return home to Croatia and know he will always be fondly remembered by everyone at Glentoran.”

Thanks Hrvoje, and all the very best to you and your family.
