Glentoran Women 11-0 Derry City

Sun, 23/04/2023 - 19:32

It was a great start for our new and returning players today as Demi Vance and Emily Wilson both score twice and newly signed keeper Ellie Scott kept a clean sheet in this season opening statement of intent at Ashfield.

The Glens’ other goals came from Kerry Beattie (2), Joely Andrews, Emma McMaster, Nadene Caldwell, Caragh Hamilton and Rachel Rogan,

The first game of the season didn’t disappoint. Demi Vance restarted her Glentoran tally with a stunning long range effort. Kerry Beattie shortly followed with two goals, the second of which was a fiercely hit strike hitting Derry’s top right corner. Andrews hit next followed by a set piece in which Caldwell headed back across the opposition’s goal for McMaster to finish.

Wilson got her Glentoran career off to a flying start with a goal either side of half time. Both sides made changes in the second half allowing both sides youth get NIFL experience but the home side’s dominance didn’t dampen with Rogan making it 11.
