Crusaders v Glentoran

Tue, 25/03/2014 - 08:31

Glentoran travel across town this evening to face Crusaders in the final pre-split fixture of this season's Danske Bank Premiership. With the glens needing to finish third to guarantee European qualification for next season, it's a game they cannot afford to lose and realistically one they must win. The Glens currently sit in fifth spot, seven points adrift of Crusaders in fourth.

The two teams have met twice in the league so far this season. In early September Stephen Baxter's side recorded a comfortable 3-nil victory at the Oval and then the two teams played out a 0-0 draw at Seaview in horrendous weather conditions just prior to Christmas.

Jay Magee damaged ankle ligaments last Saturday against Cliftonville and will miss tonight's game. David Scullion is still suffering with a thigh injury whilst Marcus Kane and David Howland remain sidelined. Everyone else is available though as Glentoran seek to keep a fourth clean sheet in a row. If they accomplish that then they've every chance of picking up the three points.

Kick-off at Seaview is 7:45pm.
