Crusaders Strikers 0–1 Glentoran Women

Mon, 10/06/2024 - 22:24

A late goal from Sarah Tweedie – playing her first game of the season – settled this hard fought Toal’s County Antrim Cup Quarter Final at Seaview tonight.

The Glens started with the same line up as at the league win at Lisburn at the weekend, against a strong Crusaders team, but some late substitutions made a big difference with Tweedie finally breaking the duck and evening up for last season’s exit to the Crues at the same stage in the tournament.

We go into a semi-final draw alongside Cliftonville Ladies, Linfield Ladies and Lisburn Rangers Ladies. Next up is a visit from Derry City to the Blanchflower this Friday (14 June) at 7.45.

Glentoran Women: Ashleigh McKinnon, Jenna McKearney,  Jess Foy (c), Emma McMaster, Aimee Neal, Nadene Caldwell, Chloe McCarron, Demi Vance, Joely Andrews, Emily Wilson, Kerry Beattie

Subs: Sarah Tweedie (for McKearney 70), Sofie Keenan (for Foy 80), Kelly Bailie, Kascie Weir, Aimee Kerr (for Andrews 88), Rachel McIntyre,  (for Wilson 81), Rachel Rogan (81)
