Following the tragic events of last weekend, everyone connected with Glentoran Football Club would like to express their deepest sympathies to the family of Noel, Graham and Nevin Spence and assure them that they are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Before being called into the Ulster Rugby development squad, Nevin played for a number of months for the Glentoran U17 side (2006-07). He was a natural sportsman who could have had a successful career at whatever sport he chose. Football's loss was rugby's gain and Nevin was well on his way to establishing himself as one of Ulster's finest players before tragedy struck. As a mark of respect, Glentoran will hold a minute's silence prior to our Danske Bank Premiership fixture against Lisburn Distillery this coming Saturday.
