The Directors of Glentoran FC offer deepest condolences to long standing and prominent supporter, Girvan Wiltshire on the passing of his father, Gordon.
Girvan was the ever-popular chairman of Stormont GSC for many years. He remains an active member and rarely misses a game home or away.
Girvan unsurprisingly was the main driver behind organising the trip to Detroit for Stormont members at the weekend. Sadly, due to the illness of his father, Girvan took the decision to pull out of the trip to remain with his father during his final days. He had already made contact with Detroit City FC supporters and had even gone as far as organising lifts in Detroit for club members! The 8 members who went to Detroit enjoyed every minute although Girvan, king of the "one liners", was never far from their thoughts.
We are sure the thoughts of everyone at Glentoran are with Girvan and the family circle at this sad and difficult time.
Mr Wiltshire’s funeral service will be held at Roselawn Crematorium on Thursday 1st June at 2.00pm.
