Carrick Rangers 0-2 Glentoran

Wed, 30/07/2014 - 22:03

Glentoran won their latest pre-season game 2-0 at Taylor's Avenue, Carrickfergus this evening. Jim O'Hanlon put the Glens in front with a neat finish after 13 minutes. Stand-in goalkeeper, Chris Keenan then did well to prevent a Carrick Rangers equaliser before the home side hit the upright on 25 minutes. Mark Miskimmin thought he'd doubled Glentoran's advantage on the half hour mark but the goal was ruled out for offside. Jordan Stewart was then unlucky to see his effort deflected onto the post on 36 minutes.

Just 5 minutes after the break it was 2-0; Miskimmin firing home from just inside the area. The Glentoran striker then had another goal disallowed; again for offside, before being replaced by Danny McKee. The Glens should have added further goals with McCaffrey, Stewart and McKee all spurning chances.

Next up is Jason Hill's Testimonial game against Ards at the Oval on Saturday. Please come along and show you support. Kick-off is 3pm.
