Glentoran today announced the signing of Barry Holland on a one year contract subject to a medical. The versatile defender brings significant experience of top level football in Northern Ireland, a vital asset in such a young squad.
Speaking this morning Glentoran Chairman Stephen Henderson said, "I am delighted to welcome Barry to the club and would like to pay tribute to the Glentoran Community Trust whose financial help was pivotal in securing the player." GCT Chairman Jim Welsh commented, " We are delighted to have been able to help the parent club in this way with funds raised from the recent highly successful boxing event and the GCT will continue to strive to support the club in mutually beneficial ways."
In return for the financial support the GCT will be able to avail of the player for PR opportunities. Barry has been registered and is available for selection for tomorrow afternoon's opening Danske Bank Premiership fixture against Cliftonville.
