We’ve had a few enquiries about the 130 goalkeeper’s shirt since last week, so now that the votes are in we thought we’d give you a sneak preview. The shirt, once again designed by Clifford Logan, nods in acknowledgement to that wonderful evening 35 years ago this autumn when the Italian millionaires of Juventus arrived in east Belfast.
Some of you of a certain age will remember that after the tie, legendary Italian international goalkeeper Dino Zoff gave Glentoran custodian Dennis Matthews his grey goalkeeper’s jersey. Dennis, in turn continued to wear the grey shirt for the rest of the season as custodian for the Glens.
It’s a wonderful story and one which we’ve used as the inspiration for this design which mirrors the detail of the outfield 130 strip.
