Christmas Appeal Update 2019

Tue, 31/12/2019 - 00:00

Our Christmas appeal was a huge success once again this year.

As a club we pulled together and showed our support off the pitch.

Your very generous donations enabled us to do the following..

Provide a 3 course Christmas dinner for 100 local pensioners.

Hold a kids party with a visit from Santa; thank you to Connswater Community Centre.

Dozens of families helped with electric and gas vouchers. Over 200 hampers delivered to those in need. Thank you to Westbourne GSC for the use of their premises to store and pack the hampers and their staff for their continued help throughout November and December.

Dundonald Food Bank received a large donation of much needed food items.

Lastly on Sunday night 4 shelters visited with gifts and survival packs Stella Maris, Welcome Centre, Morning Star, Waring Street Women's Shelter. Followed by  walking the streets of Belfast handing out our survival packs.

Thank you to our volunteers ... Stephen Henderson, Mick McDermott,  John Moore, Sean McManus, Suzi Rea,  Kellie Baillie,  Curtis Harvey,  Corey Harvey,  Samantha Blaine,  Sarah Killops,  Sarah Stewart , Clair Taggart, & Jodie Killops.

During our visit to Stella Maris they expressed their need for toiletries, so if anyone has unwanted Christmas gifts or can help please get in touch via our Facebook page Glentoran Christmas Homeless Appeal.

Thank you all once again for your support to see first hand the gratitude of everyone we helped was very humbling and reminds us all that we are more than just a football club.
