We learned recently of the sad news that lifelong Glenman, Tommy Gilmore passed away in Canada on the 30th December. Tommy was born in Thistle Street, off the Newtownards Road and like so many from the area, worked in the Shipyard as a steel worker. The Glens were his passion however and remained so even after he emigrated to Canada in 1978.
A keen footballer, bandsman and Orangeman, he was also a member of the Westbourne Glentoran Supporters Club for many years.
Tommy will be fondly remembered by his family and his many friends at the Oval and they look forward to marking his passing at The Oval when fans are allowed to return once again.
