It's always been speculated that East Belfast's most famous son, Sir Van Morrison, was a childhood Glenman when growing up on Hyndford Street and attending Orangefield Secondary School (in the same school year as our own Roy Coyle). Well in a wide-ranging interview with journalist Martin Chilton in The Independent earlier this week, Sir Van told the world of his family links with the club, his attendance at our matches with his Dad, and the part Glentoran inadvertently played in his education.
