The club is sorry to learn of the death earlier today of former player manager Alex Young.
Alex Young had a brief spell at the Oval in 1968 as successor to his fellow Scot, John Colrain.
He had a great playing career at his local club Hearts and Everton before moving to Glentoran. He is a true legend at Everton where he won a League Championship medal alongside Billy Bingham and where he is still revered as "The Golden Vision", a nickname coined by Glens legend Danny Blanchflower.
Glentoran FC pass on deepest condolences to Alex' family on their sad loss.
