Glens Under 20 players Karl Hamill and Patrick Cafolla have joined Bluefin Sport Championship club, Knockbreda on loan until January 2018.
Manage Gary Haveron said this evening, after completing the deal:" Both Karl and Paddy are very talented lads aren't far away from Premiership level who can both have a great future at Glentoran. That's why I signed them on two year contract extensions during the close season.
As it stands they're both just outside the first team 16 most weeks so I feel they will really benefit from a few months playing in a highly competitive division against older, more experienced opposition. We wanted them to play at the highest possible level and also to keep them local in East Belfast so Knockbreda was the perfrct mix on both levels. Lee Forsythe at Knockbreda is a good guy. I know he'll look after them well and that he'll give them every opportunity to develop. They are both just 19 so this will really prepare them for football in the top division.
Both lads have started the season very well for the Under 20s and I'm confident that come January they'll both be pushing for a more regular place in our first team squad. In the meantime they will train once a week with us and twice with Knockbreda so they will still be very involved at Glentoran.
