Fri, 12/01/2024 - 17:49

We are delighted to welcome Charlie Lindsay back to the Bet McLean Oval.

Charlie (19) is a lifelong Glenman from East Belfast and he joins on loan from Derby County until the end of the current season. He spent his entire youth career with the Glentoran Academy and was a star in the year squad that dominated its year in Northern Ireland youth football from its inception. The team was coached by Charlie’s dad Jason and included current Glentoran first teamers Aaron Wightman and Jonny Russell, as well as a number of young lads subsequently transferred to clubs in England and Scotland.

Charlie was Glentoran’s youngest ever outfield first teamer when as a 15-year-old he came on as sub v Ballyclare Comrades in the County Antrim Shield at the Bet McLean Oval in September 2019. He joined Rangers in the summer of 2020, moving to Derby County in the summer of 2023. Derby feel Glentoran is the right place for Charlie to prepare for first team football.

Welcome home Charlie and we all look forward to watching you for the rest of the season.

  • Charlie’s registration is subject to international clearance. He can play for Glentoran once that is processed by the IFA.
