Tomorrow's Gazette

Fri, 06/12/2013 - 17:47

Another home game and another packed Glentoran Gazette will greet you on the forecourt at the Oval for the visit of league new boys Warrenpoint Town.

In this latest edition, our Playing For Keeps feature returns, with an appropriate subject - Alan Patterson, whose long held record for having the most appearances as a Glentoran goalkeeper will finally be broken when Elliott Morris leads the team out for this game. Philip Stevenson looks back on Paddy's two spells at the club, his frustrating time at Sheffield Wednesday and his time under Billy Sinclair at Sligo Rovers.

Our Raiders of the Lost Archives feature Eddy Patrick focuses on Gary Smyth who among other things, reveals his favourite partner at centre back, while in World Class, Jake Proctor profiles Juventus and Italy defender Claudio Gentile.

Gazette editor Chris Holt picks up the Glens Top Tens mantle with, in his opinion, the best players to grace the shirt in his time following the team and in Hitting the Net, we find out which players from our history you would bring together to play up front.

Coming right back up to date, Sam Braik talks to Mark Clarke in our player interview and we'll get the run down on our visitors and have the most up to date news and stats.

This is the last Glentoran Gazette before Christmas so we'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support throughout the season so far and wish you all a very happy and peaceful festive period. We'll be back on Boxing Day, as usual.
