This a big week for Glentoran. Not only do the men’s first team host a “Big Two” match between first and second in the league, but on Wednesday evening our all-conquering Glentoran team start their defence of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership with a home match with Crusaders Strikers at the Oval.
The Glens are currently holders of all four of Northern Ireland’s senior trophies, but the management team aren’t resting on their laurels with the high-profile signings of regular Northern Ireland internationals Lauren Wade and Casey Howe and of Jen McDade from Shelbourne (full story here). Also the addition of the experienced Stephen Murray and Lesley Winder to Billy Clarke’s coaching team.
Last year’s dominant squad are also all retained with just Shona Davis leaving to return to Cliftonville. 2018 cup final hero Makayla Mulholland will be back in the running after a long-term injury, although Caragh Hamilton will still be out for some time following her ACL injury last season.
www.glentoran.com and our social media feeds will keep everyone fully updated on the team’s progress throughout the 2021 season both on the main news page here and also at the GWFC News page.
