Last Saturday, prior to the Ballymena United game, Glentoran Gazette contributor, Philip Stevenson made a very special presentation to the British Heart Foundation.
The cheque for £2,500 was handed over to Gary Wilson from the Northern Ireland section of the British Heart Foundation.
This amount was raised from the sales of Philip’s book, John Colrain – A life in Football and was gratefully received by the charity, who will be using the funds locally.
A member of the Glentoran Supporters Committee (1923), Philip and the 1923 also used money from the sales of the book to sponsor the match v Ballymena on behalf of the British Heart Foundation, in an effort to increase awareness of the charity.
A few copies of the book still remain and can be purchased via the Gazette Sales option or from the Gazette programme sellers on match day.
