Please Help Kodi

Thu, 26/07/2018 - 23:58

On a very sad note, one of our young Academy players, Blake Brown who plays for our U10s team, has missed the last couple of months football as his 10 year old sister has been very ill. Heartbreakingly his mum and dad received the news that Kodi has a brain tumour. She is presently in Germany receiving ground breaking treatment not available in the UK.

As you can imagine the cost of this essential treatment is enormous. Kodi and her family have been in Germany for 2 weeks now and are self funding the treatment.
Each week of treatment is costing €6,000, each MRI scan is €950 and this week Kodi had an IV port fitted at the cost of €2,500.

The treatment is expected to last for 6 months, during which time Kodi hopefully will be able to return home for short periods of respite.  Kodi’s mum has been allowed to stay in the clinic to care for her during her treatment, but her father, little brother and grandparents are funding their own private accommodation in the nearest village.

We are appealing to everyone connected with ours and other clubs and businesses who would like to help to please donate what you can to the funding page which has been set up for her. Kodi’s family are suffering great pain at the moment as we all would if it was one of our own children. So anything the Glentoran Family can do to help save this young girl’s life will be greatly appreciated. If you can help please don’t delay please as the family need immediate help. Please share. Thank you.
