We are delighted to announce that the winner of the supporters’ vote as April Glentoran Player of the Month is Gael Bigirimana.
This win came on the back of an exceptional run of form in the Glens’ midfield that also saw Bigi voted runner-up to Jay Donnelly in March.
Bigi played every minute of our seven-match unbeaten April in the Danske Bank Premiership and secured 52% of the supporters’ vote. Rory Donnelly, scorer of five goals in the month was a strong runner up with Jay Donnelly third and Luke McCullough fourth,
Gael reacted modestly on being told of his award: " I want to give thanks to My God for enabling me to be fit and well. And I am grateful for the fans to acknowledge the work that not only I’ve been giving to the club but the rest of my team mates and the staff behind the scenes. I don’t see it that I’ve been player of the month. To me I am just grateful that I have the mind to serve Glentoran in the right way.
