Dear GFC fans,
It is with greatest respect that I write this message on the eve of our 2019/20 campaign. I write this as I contemplate our past, our present and our exciting future.
I have said that ‘football’ is about the players, the fans and the community it creates! Us coaches merely try to steer the club forward but without the ‘community’ we all fail.
I have been in charge only 3 months but I feel we have suffered 3 decades of disjointed and fractured support; I hear from supporters who have NOT been to a game in 10 years! And I hear their desire and passion to re-connect.
My job, our job, is to bring you ALL back in their thousands to support our Club!
I arrive as someone without allies, without loyalties, without a history to any party; I arrive with ONE GOAL - to drive this club forward to the greatness it deserves.
Our players have shown immense commitment during pre-season, through tough training and friendlies and now to the final week; I commend them all.
They have been soldiers for our cause!!
Now I ask all fans; from the East, from the West, from the North and South to support us now.
Our future includes you all and we ask for your support.
Our motto is ‘Le Jeu Avant Tout ....but I disagree....the GAME is not before all!
Our TEAM is before all; and that team includes ....players, fans and community!
I wish us all well as we embark on this journey!!
