Milestone for Stevie

Sun, 14/04/2019 - 18:18

Congratulations to Stevie Gordon on making his 150th first team appearance in yesterday's draw with Ards.

Stevie joined the Glens from Glenavon (for whom he made a number of first team appearances under Gary Hamilton in 2011/12 season) in summer 2012, making his debut the following December as substitute for Jimmy Callacher in a 5-0 home league win over Donegal Celtic.

After loan spells in the Premiership with Lisburn Distillery and Ards, Stevie really established himself in the Oval in season 2014-15, making 34 appearances in midfield and scoring 10 goals in Eddie Patterson's team. He was a member of the starting line-up in our Irish Cup Final winning team that season.

Although normally a central midfielder, Stevie has played most of his football at fullback this season and also played as a stand-in centre back in our Europa League playoff final at Solitude in May 2016.

The 25 year old is a lifelong Glenman from a Glentoran family so well done Stevie. One of our own.
