With the first round of Danske Bank Premiership matches now complete, Glentoran currently sit in 6th place in the table with 16 points from our 11 games.

Next up for the Glens is a trip to the Coleraine Showgrounds for the reverse of the opening day fixture. Back in August a Jim O'Hanlon penalty gave the Glens a 1-nil lead at half-time before Coleraine hit back with a Shane Jennings equaliser.

For Coleraine, that draw at the Oval was followed by 3 further draws before they finally got their first win in front of the SKY TV cameras at Solitude with an emphatic 3-1 win against the reigning champions. Defeats to Dungannon Swifts and Ballinamallard Utd followed before a second win of the season; 3-2 at home to Warrenpoint Town. A single goal defeat at Linfield, a narrow victory over Ards and a derby draw (2-2) against Ballymena Utd leaves Oran Kearney's team on 14 points and 8th in the table.

Glentoran go into the game without the suspended Calum Birney and Stephen McAlorum is a major doubt having gone off with a groin injury last weekend. Mark Miskimmin and Aaron Boyd did return for that game and Jay Magee may also come back into contention.
