It's match day 29 and Glentoran and Glenavon meet in the Danske Bank Premiership at the Oval on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off.

The two sides have faced each other on 3 previous occasions this season. The first meeting came on 4th October 2014 at Mourneview Park. Jordan Stewart netted first for Glentoran before a scrambled effort from Conor Dillon levelled things up. With 10 minutes remaining David Scullion scored from close range to give the East Belfast Glens the points. (Highlights of that game are on BBC Sport NI HERE)

A few days later the teams met at the same venue, this time in the League Cup. Curtis Allen opened the scoring on this occasion and although Conor Dillon made it 1-1, a penalty, converted by Fra McCaffrey, gave Glentoran a 2-1 half-time advantage. McCaffrey added a superb third and Jordan Stewart made it 4-1. Late on Fra McCaffrey headed home from close range to complete his hattrick and a 5-1 victory. On 8th November 2014 Glenavon came to the Oval and despite Curtis Allen and Jordan Stewart scoring to put Glentoran 2-nil up within the first quarter of an hour, Glenavon hit back to win 4-2. The game was shrouded in controversy with Gary Hamilton turning out for the visitors when he should have been suspended having been red carded a week earlier. The decision by the local games governing body not to enforce the rules didn't go down too well in East Belfast and unfortunately the saga continues to run.

Marcus Kane has recovered from illness and should return for this game. Kym Nelson, Willie Garrett and Jay Magee remain on the treatment table and long-term absentee David Howland is still missing. Jim O'Hanlon was back on the bench last Tuesday night for the excellent victory over Ballymena United. Eddie Patterson may however, opt to give O'Hanlon some game time with the Seconds.

All supporters are reminded on the ongoing roadworks in Mersey Street and should allow extra time to get to the ground.
