Glentoran v Warrenpoint Town

Tuesday 2nd January 2018, 7.45pm kick off.

Warrenpoint Town visit the Oval for the second time this season, in tenth place and on a run of eight league games without a win.

We’ve won both matches we’ve played this season – a 2-0 home win in September through goals from Curtis Allen and Robbie McDaid and a 2-3 victory at Milltown in late November when goals from Daniel Kelly (2) and Tiarnan McNicholl saw us through in a tense match after we lost an early two goal lead.

However we will need to be on top of our game from the start as ‘Point have actually scored more league goals than Glentoran this season, despite having sixteen points fewer. Also there is no room for complacency from the Glens, given that in the past few weeks we have taken just two points from a possible nine in our last three games against teams below us in the table, most recently a disappointing goalless draw in Dungannon on Saturday.

There are likely to be at least three changes from Dungannon as the substituted trio of James Knowles, Corey McMullan and Robbie McDaid are unlikely to make it. Dylan Davidson will be available to start after his one match suspension while Jonathan Smith and Tiarnan McNicholl may also come in.

The Board of Directors at Glentoran Football Club would again request that all supporters travelling to the Oval by private car consider the local residents when deciding where and how to park.
