Glentoran FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Leanne Dawson to the newly created role of Commercial Manager of the club.
In this full-time role Leanne will have overall responsibility for management and delivery of the club’s commercial objectives, growing profitability and helping move the club to a greater level of self sufficiency to strengthen itself both on and off the pitch.
Leanne comes to Glentoran with a wealth of experience in these areas, having been Regional Fundraiser at the Northern Ireland Hospice.
Leanne spoke of her pride and excitement at her new appointment and of her plans for the role: “Coming from a sales background with previous experiences at renowned organisations like Rentokil Pest Control and Northern Ireland Hospice, I have always been passionate about leveraging my skills in a dynamic and meaningful manner. The prospect of the Commercial Manager role at Glentoran is, without a doubt, a dream job for me.
My association with Glentoran goes back to my early childhood, largely influenced by my dad’s love for the club. This early connection has not only fuelled my enthusiasm for the team but also ignited a desire to contribute to its growth and success. One aspect of this role that particularly excites me is the opportunity to work closely with the club to secure sponsorship deals and foster strong relationships with local businesses. Building our brand and expanding our presence in the community is not just a professional goal for me; it's a personal passion.
As I look ahead, there are numerous exciting projects on the horizon for Glentoran. I am thrilled to be a part of this journey, playing an integral role in evolving our club and elevating its status in the world of football. The prospect of building something bigger, something that resonates with fans, sponsors, and the broader community, is a challenge I wholeheartedly embrace.

Glentoran Chairman Colin Jess welcomed Leanne to the Bet McLean Oval: “We are delighted to appoint Leanne to this important role within the club. Since joining us she has already made an impact in considering the many ways we can develop our overall commercial strategy going forward. The role was earmarked by the club as one that needed someone totally focused on driving income across the whole club and we believe that in Leanne we have someone who understands the club and how we are looking to professionalise our commercial activity.
