Mon, 25/02/2019 - 22:11

Lifelong Glentoran supporter Jim Logan recently passed away after suffering an initial stroke following our match with Linfield last month. The Board of Directors and all the staff at Glentoran pass on their deepest condolences to trhe family circle on their tragic and irreplaceable loss.

Jim's son David, himself a long standing and very well-known Glenman, has penned the following tribute to his late Father:

"James (Jim) Logan (born 05/03/46), passed away on 19/02/19, suffering a stroke immediately after the recent Glens-Blues match on 28/01/19. Jim was born and raised on Solway Street, attending Mersey Street Primary and Ashfield Boys, so he was naturally drawn to the football team 5 minutes from his house. Over the years, he would see many great sides like Colrain's 'Cougars' (Trevor Thompson was his favourite player), McFall's 'Invincibles', the '88 Double side and, more recently, the Coyle-McDonald title sides. Latterly living in Carnmoney (via Ballybeen and Cregagh), he remained a match-going Glenman, attending 90% of games each season. He loved nothing better than dissecting performances and wondering about the new ground and where the club could go. He will never see where that journey will end but sadly Jim's has. He was my dad, my mate and my hero. God bless".
