Glentoran v Linfield

Fri, 21/02/2014 - 17:04

The Glens meet the Blues at the Oval on Friday night in the Danske Bank Premiership.

Kick off is 7:45pm and TICKETS ARE NOT REQUIRED.

Admission to all parts of the stadium is Adult £10 and Concession £7.

Given the revelations of last weekend, this will be David Jeffrey's last game in charge of Linfield at the Oval. He meets a Glentoran side whose recent form hasn't been great but this is a 'big-two' game and form and league positions count for nothing. A number of players will have to sit this one out due to suspension; Mark Clarke, Marcus Kane and Willie Garrett for the Glens and Robert Garrett for the visitors. For Glentoran, Jay Magee should be back in contention following a slight thigh injury. Jason Hill should also return to the squad as should Jordan Stewart who sat out last weekend's game against Ards.

Glentoran FC would ask that fans of both sides behave in a respectful manner and do not do anything which would bring adverse publicity to Glentoran, Linfield or the local game. In recent months various grounds in the Northern Ireland Football League have seen the appearance of 'smoke bombs'. We would remind all supporters attending the game that being in possession of such objects inside the ground is a criminal offence and anyone identified with them will be reported to the PSNI. Already this season Glentoran FC have identified the thrower of a 'smoke bomb' and this case is being progressed by the PSNI. As Graham Luney pointed out in his recent article in the Belfast Telegraph (read it HERE), all clubs need to take a stand against this behaviour.

We would ask that all fans follow any instructions from stadium Stewards and also report any incidents directly to them. CCTV will also be in operation within the stadium. Enjoy the game.
