Glentoran v Glenavon

Sun, 09/03/2014 - 18:42

Glentoran and Glenavon meet at the Oval on Monday evening with a place in the semi-final of the Irish Cup the prize for the winners. Both sides had victories over the weekend, both scoring 3 goals in the process.

The two teams have met 3 times already this season in the Danske Bank Premiership. Glentoran triumphed 2-1 at Mourneview Park in mid-August thanks to goals from David Howland and David Scullion. When they met at the Oval in November the game finished scoreless but Glentoran were the victors again in early January when they came out on top in a thrilling 3-2 win (Magee, Kane & Allen).

Eddie Patterson hopes to have Calum Birney, Jay Magee and Jason Hill available for selection after they sat out Friday night's victory over Ballymena Utd with slight knocks. Jonathan Addis returns to the squad too following a one match suspension. Unfortunately for the Glentoran manager, both Danny McKee and Fra McCaffrey are ineligible for this season's Irish Cup.

Kick-off is 7,45pm and all supporters should enter the ground via the Parkgate Drive turnstiles.

Glentoran supporters are reminded that season tickets are not valid for this fixture.
