Glentoran v Crusaders

After such a week of turmoil in the lead up to last Saturday's game against Ballinamallard Utd, Glentoran responded with the true grit and determination that this club has been famous for in the last 130 years. We responded through the difficulties off the pitch and secured a vital three points against a strong opposition. This week, Crusaders travel to The Oval as the run of important games continues.

In this week's programme notes, Eddie Patterson speaks of his delight at having a virtually full squad to choose from. Marcus Kane and Stuart Elliott, two long-term absentees are set to be back in Eddie's squad as The Glens search for back-to-back home victories.

Our opposition Crusaders have been on an excellent run of form, seeing them rise to 2nd in the Danske Bank Premiership, just 5 points off the pace set by Cliftonville. Since The Crues comfortably eased past Glentoran at Seaview in October, a run of just one defeat in the last 10 league matches has followed. For The Glens, the big concern will lie with Crusaders front line with plenty of goals scored already this season by Jordan Owens, Timmy Adamson, Gary McCutcheon and Paul Heatley. Adamson however is a doubt for Saturday's game after picking up a knock last week, with Chris Morrow and Eamon McAllister on Crusaders long-term injury list. Declan Caddell and Heatley return from suspension as a boost for the Hatchetmen.

Crusaders have recorded three straight victories of Glentoran with the 2-0 win in October being the most recent. The last time The Crues came to The Oval, they humbled Glentoran with a 4-0 hammering. The Glens will be hoping to build on last week's form and get the much needed three points come 5pm on Saturday.
