It's that time of year again!
This Saturday we launch the annual Glentoran Christmas Appeal at the Bet McLean Oval.
This year with Covid 19 still very much a part of all our lives we feel we cannot do our usual hamper appeal. So we have decided to change things a bit.
Last year we collected money and Tesco/Lidl vouchers which were a great help to those in need. So this year we plan to do the same.
So we are appealing for:
- Cash donations
- Vouchers
- Gift sets (All those unwanted gifts that sit in a drawer unused)
- Luxury tins of biscuits, shortbread and sweets.
Our appeal team will be in the Bet McLean Oval car park at every home match, starting at Saturday's match with Crusaders. So all donations are welcome this weekend and for the next three months
This year we at Glentoran worked throughout the year supplying hot meals and food parcels to those in need in all corners of East Belfast and the Glentoran Family should all be very proud of what was achieved. As a guideline, £3.50 gets a pensioner a 2-course meal and £12 feeds a family of 5.
Our eyes have been well and truly opened this past year to the struggle that covid 19 has forced on some families in our city.
So those of you who can afford to donate please do so, and help us help those who have fallen on hard times.
In November we will also launch our homeless appeal which is very close to our hearts but for now we will be concentrating on helping to put food on the table of those in need. Every donation makes a difference no matter how small. We will have collection buckets in the main carpark this Saturday vs Crusaders. Together we can make such a difference.
