Glentoran call for Cup Final Crowd

Tue, 09/07/2013 - 16:59

Glentoran take on another European challenge when they face KR Reykjavik on Thursday night at the Oval and are calling for a cup final crowd to help secure a second round tie against Standard Liege. The east Belfast side returned from Iceland with a worthy nil all result which provides a real incentive to go for a victory and continue their European involvement.

Eddie Patterson has rightly praised the efforts of the team and together with the Board, is calling on fans to come out for what will prove to be another cup final experience “This is another ‘winner takes all’ situation for us. Our first leg result has given us the opportunity and the platform to compete for the bigger prize of a second round tie. That has to be a real incentive for the whole Glentoran family to get behind the team just as they did in May when we brought home the Irish Cup. We know it is holiday season but it would be great to have a good turn out on Thursday and I know the team will appreciate all the support they get.”

Kick-off is at 7.30pm and access to the game will be via payment at the turnstiles with Adults £10, Concessions £7 and children under 11 free when accompanied with an adult. Special arrangements being made for Glentoran Academy teams and these will be communicated via the coaching staff.

As this is a UEFA game, fans should be in their seats prior to the start of the game. Please recognise that under UEFA Regulations there will be no standing permitted in any area of the ground and we would ask for your support to ensure we comply will this ruling.

We are looking forward to welcoming our guests from Iceland and let’s make sure it is another night to remember at the Oval, both on and off the pitch.

And remember,
