The season may just have come to an end but for Glentoran Academy the strive for excellence in producing our next generation of young players continues. This past weekend all Academy team managers from under 11 to under 17 attended the Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma Course at Seaview. The Glens were the only Irish League club to have all their Academy teams represented at the event and the two day course will help to further the development of our coaches as we continue to focus on developing technically gifted footballers.
Coerver coaching is a well-established football coaching system that focuses on ball mastery and individual skills and has been used extensively by clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the Irish FA are focussing heavily on Coerver coaching for their Elite Development programme and now all Glentoran Academy players can reap the benefit of this coach education programme as they continue their journey through the Academy, hopefully to Eddie Patterson’s first team.
