Our manager, Gary Haveron was today named as the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Manager of the Month for October.
It is a first award for our new boss who took over at the start of the month and made an instant impact in reviving the club's fortunes on the field.
After taking over at The Oval at the end of September, Gary has led the team to a four game league unbeaten run, including three consecutive wins against Dungannon Swifts, Cliftonviille and his old club, Carrick Rangers.
Speaking after receiving his award from NIFWA chairman Stephen Watson (pictured), Gary said the players "have bought into everything we have asked them to do. It is has been a super response".
He added: There is a still a long way to go but everyone is enjoying their football and we are looking forward to Saturday's game against Portadown. Let's just hope that this award doesn't jinx me, the way it has done so many managers in the past. But I'm delighted to accept the award."
Everyone at Glentoran congratulates Gary and we know this will be the first of many individual and team awards.
