Castlereagh GSC Player Of The Year Awards

Sat, 20/05/2017 - 10:44

Last night was the traditional end of season awards night at the Castlereagh Glentoran Supporters Club. Despite a poor season for the club, the members of the Castlereagh GSC recognised a number of players who shone throughout the season.

Awards presented included the Glentoran Supporters' Player Of The Year, voted on by the whole Glentoran support at the last home match of the season and widely viewed as the "official" POTY award..

The awards and winners were:

Glentoran supporters' POTY:                    Curtis Allen

Castlereagh GSC members' POTY:            Elliott Morris

Castlereagh GSC members' Young POTY: Conall Delaney

Curtis Allen was streets ahead as our top scorer this season with 18 goals from 36 appearances, an excellent return in a struggling team. Curtis signed from Inverness Caledonian in January 2014 and has a total 67 goals for the club.

Elliott Morris had an excellent season, playing 37 of our 42 first team matches. With 651 appearances, Elliott is now our second highest appearance maker, behind only Colin Nixon.

Conall Delaney joined the club from Glenavon last summer. He made his first team debut in our away win at Ballymena in March and made a big impression as he held his place on the wing to the end of the season.

Glentoran FC offers congratulations to these 3 players and thanks them for their continued high levels of commitment to the club. Thanks also to the committee and members of the Castlereagh GSC for recognising the players in this manner.
