The Glentoran Academy have shown their support for a new government pilot programme 'Mental Health and Well-Being in Sport'. The Northern Ireland Sports Minister has released an online video through http://www.mindingyourhead.info/ supporting the Public Health Agency. The video is directed as a pilot programme for 25 sports clubs across Northern Ireland.
On Saturday, our very own U13 Academy side showed support for the campaign, with the above photograph being taken at The Oval.
The campaign aims to increase awareness of this issue within Sport NI so we would advise anybody involved to take a few minutes to read the above link. The website also provides advice for anyone affected by these issues.
As well as helping promote this campaign, Saturday was a day of celebration for our academy players as it was the official Registration Day for the club for this season. Congratulations and good luck to all of the boys at each age group who will be playing for Glentoran in the 2013-2014 season.
