Officials of Hillfoot Glentoran Supporters Club presented a cheque for £1500 to Glentoran Chairman, Stephen Henderson in the boardroom prior to yesterday's match with Cliftonville.

Donnelly’s goal followed a second half equaliser from Joe Gormley after John McGuigan had put Glentoran in front. For the opening game of this new NIFL Premiership season Glens manager Ronnie McFall chose to start new signing Conor Pepper after the 24 year old Dubliner signed on Tuesday and fellow new face Nigel Prentice was named among the substitutes.
Glentoran v Cliftonville
Saturday 4th August 2018, Kick Off 3pm
Tomorrow we open the new season with a visit from Cliftonville, presenting us with an early chance to get revenge for the late defeat in the Europa League Play Off Final in our last competitive match, back in May.
All three of this week’s signings – Conor Pepper, Lee Chapman and Nigel Prentice – have had their registrations approved with Pepper likely to make his debut in centre midfield.
First game of the season and a very special edition of your multi-award winning Glentoran Gazette dedicated to the memory of the late Ron Manley. A one off cover has been designed by Clifford Logan, Gazette veteran Philip Stevenson pays tribute to his great friend in our centre pages and Cliftonville’s Liam Murray shares his memories of Yorkie’s time at Solitude.
The club is pleased to announce the signing of Conor Pepper (pictured above) as our first new signing for the first team this summer.
Conor (24), a central or right sided midfielder, is a former Republic of Ireland U19 international who has spent the past six seasons in Scotland, first at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and latterly with Greenock Morton. Last season he was coaching at Morton while recovering from a knee operation.
Curtis Allen and Elliott Morris speak to Glens TV ahead of Saturdays opening match.
Prior to Saturday’s opening match with Cliftonville, the club will pay a sincere and appropriate tribute to our former striker and 250 Club member Ron Manley, who sadly died in June.
