DESIGNED BY SUPPORTERS, CHOSEN BY SUPPORTERS, MADE BY SUPPORTERS…THE KUKRI GLENTORAN 130TH ANNIVERSARY SHIRT GOES INTO PRODUCTION.

Glentoran Football Club in association with our kit and training apparel manufacturers Kukri were this week delighted to welcome Glentoran supporter Craig Gamble to Kukri Ireland’s HQ in Lisburn to press the start button on the production of our iconic 130th anniversary shirt.

Craig’s name was drawn out by Glentoran manager Eddie Patterson last month to begin the manufacturing process of a unique jersey to celebrate the 130th anniversary of this great football club.

Craig (a member of the Raven GSC) was one of the supporters who committed to purchase the 130 shirt within a period of 24 hours of the project being unveiled. The club has been overwhelmed by the response of supporters to this initiative.

Craig was delighted not only to press the button to put the jersey into production but also to begin the run of player shirts to be worn by the team in a one off instance later this month.

The east Belfast man was joined by Ruth McCreery (manageress of the Glentoran Superstore, Clifford Logan (Glentoran Gazette) and Sam Robinson (Glentoran Gazette) and Jasmin Kitchen to give the process a complete Glentoran fingerprint.

Here’s a sneak preview of the shirt hot off the sublimation manufacture process. The shirt is the first Glentoran shirt EVER to have been, designed, selected and produced by Glentoran fans here in Northern Ireland.

We would like to thank Terry Jackson and all the staff at Kukri Ireland for supporting the project so enthusiastically (The shirts have sold out) also thanks to Simon Kitchen of FonaCab for providing transport for Craig as part of the prize to and from Lisburn. We would also again like to thank everyone who committed to purchase a jersey. Your support will help raise much needed funds to allow the management team to continue to build on what to date has been a very positive start to the 2012-2013 campaign.
