Record appearance holder Colin Nixon has re-joined Glentoran after eight years away from the Bet McLean Oval.

Colin will take up the position of Technical Director at Glentoran Academy with immediate effect. In this newly created role he will have responsibility for overseeing the Academy at Glentoran FC, including all age groups up to and including Under 18.  He will be responsible for shaping the future direction of the Academy, its staff and players.  He will develop, manage and deliver the Academy coaching programme and coordinate the day–to-day running of the Academy.

Ballymacarrett GSC Player Of The Year Awards

Ballymacarrett Glentoran Supporters Club presented the club’s Glentoran Player of the Year awards to the winners of the past two seasons at a reopening event in the Ballymac clubrooms earlier this month.

Luke McCullough won the award for 2020-21, his first season at the Bet McLean Oval, and Hrvoje Plum was belatedly presented for 2019-20, a presentation delayed by Covid-19 restrictions. Congratulations to both players.

 

Ticket Sales Update: Larne and Linfield matches

Tickets for next Tuesday's Toal's County Antrim Shield match v Larne at Inver Park are now available to purchase online for Glentoran supporters at this site.

Tickets for our rearranged Danske Bank Premiership match v Linfield on Tuesday 28th September at the Bet McLean Oval are also back on sale at this site.

All tickets purchased for the original date for the Linfield game remain valid for the new date.

Glentoran 5-0 Banbridge Town

The much-vaunted strength in depth at the Bet McLean Oval was clearly demonstrated this evening Mick McDermott made no fewer than nine changes to the starting line-up that comfortably defeated Ballymena United four days ago. Only skipper Marcus Kane and Jay Donnelly remained from that game. In came Ross Glendinning for his Glentoran debut, Gael Bigirimana, Rory Donnelly, Seanan Clucas, Ciaran O’Connor, Mal Smith, Joe Crowe, Caolan Marron and Ben Cushnie as we commenced this season’s quest to win the Bet McLean League Cup.

Following the summer departure of manager Stuart King to take over at IPL side Carrick Rangers, Town have turned to the experienced former Bangor, Sport & Leisure Swifts and Lurgan Celtic boss Frankie Wilson to lead their quest to win promotion to the Championship, assisted by club stalwart and former defender Simon Nicks.
