Ballymacarrett Glentoran Supporters Club presented the club’s Glentoran Player of the Year awards to the winners of the past two seasons at a reopening event in the Ballymac clubrooms earlier this month.
Luke McCullough won the award for 2020-21, his first season at the Bet McLean Oval, and Hrvoje Plum was belatedly presented for 2019-20, a presentation delayed by Covid-19 restrictions. Congratulations to both players.
During the period of Covid-enforced closure, members of the Ballymacarrett Glentoran Supporters Club used the closure as an opportunity to perform a renovat6ion on the club’s Wilgar Street premises.
On Saturday 4th September the club was officially reopened by Glens’ legendary former captain and Ballymac GSC President Paul Leeman and club Vice President Philip Stevenson in front of Mick McDermott, Paul Millar and the full Glentoran first team squad. Following the awards presentation, Ballymac Chairman Thomas Sewell presented a cheque on behalf of the club to Mick McDermott for use by the parent club.
A great night was had by all and Ballymac members were delighted to see so many players giving up their time to come along to the clubrooms.
