Treble shot for Glentoran Women

Don’t forget that Glentoran Women tonight have the opportunity to complete a League and Cup Double tonight, a domestic treble and their third successive win in this tournament when they face Crusaders Strikers in the Final of the Electric Ireland’s Women’s Challenge Cup at the National Stadium at Windsor Park (Kick Off 7.45pm).

Glentoran progressed in the Bet McLean League Cup, booking their place in the quarter-final following a penalty shoot-out win at Mourneview Park. There were two changes from the previous game in Lurgan last time out; Mal Smith and Rory Donnelly coming into the starting line up with Gael Bigirimana and Caolan Marron dropping to the bench.

Glens Women retain County Antrim Cup

It was a tale of two keepers tonight as the Glens collected their second trophy in four days to keep on track for a second clean sweep in succession. Glentoran’s Ashleigh McKinnon for two crucial saves in the penalty shootout, and Crusaders’’ Maddy Harvey-Clifford for a string of outstanding saves throughout a game in which the Glens were dominant that earned her a very deserved [Player of the Match award in a game with no shortage of candidates.

Young Glens get Northern Ireland call up

We are very pleased to announce that no fewer than FIVE Glentoran Academy players have been selected for the Northern Ireland squad in the upcoming Victory Shield International Competition.

The five Glens in the squad are Brendan Hamilton, Francis Turley, Mason Munn, Rhys Walsh and Theo McToal. Congratulations to all the boys on well deserved recognition. We know they will all do the club proud.

The tournament takes place from 16th to 22nd October, with Northern Ireland's matches as follows:

Pizza Co deliver for the Champions

The club would like to say a massive thank you to Matthew Stevenson, Manager of Pizza Co Ballyhackamore for supplying the Glentoran Women's first team squad and management with pizzas after last night's final  Danske Bank Women's Premiership with Derry City at the Bet McLean Oval. The Pizza Co is a great friend to Glentoran, supplying outr first team and visiting teams  with Pizzas after every home game throughout the season.

Glentoran Women 9-1 Derry City

Danske Bank Women's Premiership Champions Glentoran signed off on their retention campaign this evening at the Bet McLean Oval with a final comprehensive win over Derry City. The Glens goals came through four for Lauren Wade, two from Cragh Hamilton and strikes from Danielle Maxwell, Nadene Caldwell and recent signing Cora Morgan.

The champs were welcomed onto the pitch with a generous guard of honour from the Derry players and after the final whistle skipper Jess Foy was presented with the new Premiership trophy
