Important Announcement for all season ticket holders

Tue, 08/12/2020 - 22:17

It has been confirmed by the Executive that supporters will be allowed into Danske Bank Premiership matches effective this weekend, with an upper limit of 500 permitted. This is a welcome relaxation of previous restrictions, but it imposes clear restrictions on clubs and supporters that must be strictly observed when inside stadia.

For the next three home games the following season ticket groups will be permitted entry:

Saturday 12th December v Carrick Rangers: Groups A and C.

Supporting Caragh

Tue, 08/12/2020 - 21:21

Earlier this year, I began to try and tell the story of Glentoran Football Club’s epic adventure across Europe in 1914, which culminated in the winning of the Vienna Cup. The story would in turn become a book called One Saturday before the War, which I launched last Thursday, albeit in the strangest of times and probably not in the most ideal of conditions.

Glens Women up for the title

Mon, 07/12/2020 - 23:55

On Wednesday evening Glentoran Women have the opportunity to clinch the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership title when they face Crusaders Strikers at Seaview.

The Glens are currently two points ahead of Linfield Ladies with a game in hand. If two teams finish on the same points at the end of the season, the title is awarded based on head-to-head results. As Glentoran have won both “Big Two” clashes this season, then a point on Wednesday or next week’s final game (v Sion Swifts at home) will be enough to bring the trophy to the Oval. So, everything to play for on Wednesday night.

Sympathies to Scott Young & family.

Sun, 06/12/2020 - 21:43

Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott Young and his daughters Georgia & Jessica as they lay Eleanor to rest on Monday.

Everyone at Glentoran FC was devestated by the sad news of Eleanor's sudden and untimely passing last week.

There are no words to sum up how we all feel but on behalf of the Board of GRC, the President, officials, staff, players, supporters and the whole Glentoran family, we extend our deepest sympathy to our friend, former player & manager Scott Young, and their daughters Georgia & Jessica.

Crusaders 2-0 Glentoran

Sat, 05/12/2020 - 17:53

It was a disappointing finish to a game that Glentoran could have got something from had they taken their chances. The Glens had the better of the first half with Jay Donnelly and Gael Bigirimana both going close in the early stages. In between those efforts though the Crues almost snatched the lead when a flick on from Owens fell to Ross Clarke. He turned the ball goalwards but it came off the outside of the post. Heatley then shot well wide from 16 yards but chances were few and far between.

Jay is November's top player

Fri, 04/12/2020 - 18:53

Glentoran FC is pleased to announce that the first monthly winner of this season’s supporters vote as Glentoran Player of the Month is Jay Donnelly.

Recent signing Jay – who had three goals and two assists in the month – won 41% of the overall supporters’ vote. Caolan Marron was runner up and another recent signing Luke McCullough was third.

Larne 0-0 Glentoran

Wed, 02/12/2020 - 23:03

Glentoran lost out in a penalty shoot-out to Larne in tonight's final of the Co Antrim Shield after a relatively uneventful game finished scoreless.

Glentoran made 8 changes to the starting XI following last Saturday's emphatic 5-1 home win against Dungannon Swifts in the Danske Bank Premiership with only Rory Browm, Marcus Kane and Chris Gallagher retaining their places.

Good luck Northern Ireland Women

Mon, 30/11/2020 - 22:26

Everyone at Glentoran sends their best wishes to the Northern Ireland squad who face the Faroe Islands at Seaview tomorrow evening in their final qualifier for the 2022 Women’s Euros. Victory in this one will see Northern Ireland secure a first-ever play-off spot and a shot at making the rescheduled finals in 2022.
