Tue, 20/10/2020 - 21:04

Glentoran Football Club has teamed up with 247.tv to live stream our home matches in this season’s Danske Bank Premiership. *

The service will start this Saturday (23rd October) when we play Glenavon at the Oval. The game will be filmed by David Kerr of GlensTV, who everyone will agree has done an exceptional job with his highlights packages in recent years. Commentator for the match will be Aaron Agnew, also a veteran of GlensTV who has a wealth of experience in match coverage, both at Glentoran and Northern Ireland’s various youth leagues.

Mon, 19/10/2020 - 01:05

It’s that time of year again!!

What a year it’s been so far. We at Glentoran feel that this year the support of the Glentoran Family is needed more than ever. Due to the health & safety restrictions on supporter attendances and general mobility caused by Covid 19, we are unable to provide Hampers and Survival packs this year.

Saturday 17th October 2020, Kick Off 3.00pm

On Saturday we finally commence the Danske Bank Premiership season in the same way we ended the last one, with a match against Cliftonville, this time at Solitude.

No one will need reminding of the last time we played the Reds, in the never to be forgotten Sadler’s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup semi-final win in July.

Glentoran edged into the semi-finals of the Toals Co Antrim Shield following a penalty shoot-out win at the Oval.

They will be joined in the draw by holders Cliftonville, Linfield and Larne.

Glentoran controlled the game for virtually all of the 90 minutes but failed to find the breakthrough goal.

Tuesday 13th October 2020, Kick Off 7.45pm

Tomorrow evening we continue in our campaign to win the Toals County Antrim Shield for the first time since 2010 with a second consecutive visit from a North Down team based at Clandeboye Park. This time it’s Ards in the second round.

Last time we played Ards in the County Antrim Shield was twenty years ago at the Oval in the first round. That night the Glens ran out as comfortable 3-0 winners with goals from Darren Lockhart, Gary Smyth and Justin McBride.
