Glentoran FC is pleased to announce that the first monthly winner of this season’s supporters vote as Glentoran Player of the Month is Jay Donnelly.
Recent signing Jay – who had three goals and two assists in the month – won 41% of the overall supporters’ vote. Caolan Marron was runner up and another recent signing Luke McCullough was third.
Jay said to www.glentoran.com on being told of the honour: “I am delighted with the award,. I’m loving my football at Glentoran and I hope this continues, I have felt plenty of support from all around the club and it’s cheered me on big time. I just want to say thank you to all the fans supporting us I hope to keep up the good form”.
Mick McDermott: “Jay’s performances have been outstanding; and the fans have spoken with their votes. He has worked extremely hard since joining our club and that commitment is paying off. He has become an integral member of our strong squad in a very short time and we all look forward to more big performances from Jay in the future”.
This may be part of a double recognition for Jay as today he was announced by Northern Ireland Football Writers Association as part of a three-man shortlist for the Northern Ireland Player of the Month.
