Important Announcement for all season ticket holders

Tue, 08/12/2020 - 22:17

It has been confirmed by the Executive that supporters will be allowed into Danske Bank Premiership matches effective this weekend, with an upper limit of 500 permitted. This is a welcome relaxation of previous restrictions, but it imposes clear restrictions on clubs and supporters that must be strictly observed when inside stadia.

For the next three home games the following season ticket groups will be permitted entry:

Saturday 12th December v Carrick Rangers: Groups A and C.

Tuesday 15th December v Warrenpoint Town: Groups A and B.

Tuesday 29th December v Cliftonville: Groups B & C.

This maintains our policy that each season ticket holder will be guaranteed entry to two out of every three home games while the restrictions are in place. The club will continue to work with Belfast City Council and the Northern Ireland Executive to ensure all season ticket holders are admitted at the earliest practical opportunity.

The following rules are in place for all supporters attending each of these matches:

  • To gain entry, it will be essential that supporters show both their season ticket and the card showing their group.
  • Entry to the main stand will be through just one stairwell. When the stewards at this stairwell determine that the allowed number of supporters have entered the stand, no further supporters will be allowed to enter. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
  • There are also marked seats available in the Railway (Shed) stand. A steward will determine when that stand has been filled.
  • When in either stand, supporters are only permitted to sit on seats marked out with green ticks, unless part of a family bundle from the same house. Stewards will check and if necessary, ask supporters to move. Refusal to comply will lead to expulsion from the stadium.
  • The same applies to those on the terraces. All standing must do so on the places marked out at both ends.
  • Supporters must remain in the viewing location and not change ends at half time or at any other time.
  • On entering the stadium supporters should go direct to the viewing area and not hang around the forecourt area thus overcrowding it and increasing risk of infection.
  • Use of toilets is restricted to the block nearest your viewing area, this will be reinforced by stewards

All our home league matches this season will continue to be streamed live by GlensTV unless televised by Sky or BBC. To help those season ticket holders isolating or older season ticket holders uncomfortable with attending, arrangements have been made to allow those season tickets to view the match free of charge. By now you will have already registered with 247.tv. If you have been unable to log on to previous games, please email Ruth at seasontickets@glentoran.com without delay. Full details on how to access the match will be posted on the weekly match preview on Thursday evening.

We are sorry that these rules appear stringent, but they are necessary to ensure the club observes government rules on social distancing and will be strictly enforced.
