Glentoran 2-0 Bangor

Sat, 10/10/2020 - 21:32

Glentoran will face Ards in the next round of the Toals Co Antrim Shield following a comfortable 2-nil home victory over Bangor.

The Glens were still without Robbie McDaid and Paddy McClean through injury.

We also had Dayle Cooling, Caolan Marron, Bobby Burns and Paul O'Neill away on international duty but manager Mick McDermott was still able to field a very strong line up.

Paul is Ulster's Number one

Sat, 10/10/2020 - 10:40

It’s a weekend to remember for our young striker Paul O’Neill. Last night he scored both Northern Ireland’s goals in their 2-3 Under 21 defeat to Finland at Ballymena Showgrounds. This morning the Northern Ireland Football Writers announced Paul as its NI Football Awards Dream Spanish Homes Young Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season.

Tomorrow's Gazette

Fri, 09/10/2020 - 11:24

The first competitive domestic game of the season tomorrow, so don’t miss the chance to pick up your copy of our multi-award winning Glentoran Gazette.  With the Irish Cup safely in the Oval trophy cabinet, Roy Downes looks back at some bizarre Cup controversies over the years and Brian McClelland chats with a Cup final winning goal scorer of yesteryear.

Season Ticket Sales - Announcement

Thu, 08/10/2020 - 16:07

Please note that there are only a very small number of 2020-2021 season tickets available to purchase from the Glentoran Superstore this evening. Once they are sold it will be necessary to pause season ticket sales due to uncertainty over Northern Ireland Executive plans for allowable attendance numbers in the early weeks of the season.

We apologise to those who have been unable to purchase their new season ticket so far, and we are hopeful that sales can be reopened at the earliest possible opportunity.

Shirt Sponsorship 19/20 Collection

Wed, 07/10/2020 - 21:26

With the 20/21 season start date getting closer, we would normally be organising a presentation of the 19/20 match-worn 1st team shirts.

Unfortunately with the current COVID restrictions, we are unable to hold an event this year, however, our shirt sponsors will be able to collect their player's shirt in the superstore from tomorrow (Thursday 8th Oct) and any opening times after this date.

We appreciate your support.

Stevie G goes on loan

Tue, 06/10/2020 - 12:51

In a late piece of deadline day business, Stevie Gordon has gone on loan to Carrick Rangers.

Stevie has been with the club since July 2012 and has made 161 first team appearances so far for his boyhood club, scoring 21 goals. Stevie has also won two Irish Cup winners medals with Glentoran.

Good luck in your spell at Carrick Stevie.

New contract and loan for James

Mon, 05/10/2020 - 19:30

Glens young left sided defender James McCarthy has been rewarded for his strong pre season performances with a contract extension to the end of the 2021-22 season. James (19), who has come all the way through the Glentoran Academy to make fourteen first team appearances so far, will now join Harland & Wolff Welders on loan to get regular first team football over the next few months.

Congratulations James and good luck for your spell at Tillysburn.
